Default Ships? I see no ships...

So Kaleun's, after my trip into Scapa flow, I went to Loch Ewe. I went in at 14 meters under cover of darkness and keeping a watchfull eye on the obs scope, saw a mine looming out of the murky depths. After navigating the minefield I once again found a single fiji cruiser. I am starting to wonder if my install is missing some files. This is the fourth harbour I've entered only to find it deserted.
In SH IV there were always merchants docked. Is this normal for vanilla SH 3?

I snuck into Plymouth the other day during a rainstorm to see if anything would be docked. There was nothing there either. Then a frigate on patrol spotted me and began to fire. It was storming so I couldn't use the deck gun, and the water was very shallow, so I set an evasive course towards the other side of the harbor and went to flank. I was getting shot up, when all of a sudden the firing stopped. I continued to jog away, but got curious when it didn't start up again. I went to the conning tower and looked around through the binoculars and saw some sort of fire going on the other side of the harbor. I skirted around the other side of the harbor to make sure there were no ships on that side while my damage control team worked as fast as they could. A couple minutes later I got a ship sinking movie with the frigate in it. Apparently it had run into some of the harbor docks and sank itself , which explains the fire I had seen earlier and how I hadn't been sunk. (I wasn't credited with the kill sadly) I chugged away from the harbor and went to periscope depth as soon as the repairs were finished. As I snuck away at 2 knots I heard 3 or 4 warships chugging into the harbor on the hydrophones, and there was only 1 ship left far outside the harbor on patrol as I snuck away. Somehow I didn't lose a single sailor on this expedition, although my officers are reporting that they all think I'm crazy, and that there has been a renewed interest in making sure their last wills are filled out.

So yeah, it doesn't seem like there are ships in the harbor often. My dreams of finding a parked carrier were dashed. Or maybe you just have to be in the right place at the right time? (I'm on GWX btw)

Yes. In the stock game harbors are pretty much deserted. You need GWX to get the full harbor traffic.

Can you add some if you load the default campaign_RND into the map editor?
