I've been very busy the past several months and haven't been paying attention to news on Subsim. Just trying now to get up to speed.
Is the constant connection DRM still a requirement or has it been patched out yet? Earlier this year when I was looking at SH5, all DRM issues aside, as a game it seemed very unfinished and lacking the refinement of SH3 with mods. But after reading about the new mods that have been coming out for SH5, it looks like it might be worth trying, but only if the constant connection stuff is gone. I am still traveling a lot and there's no sense buying a game I can only play when I'm home. Not trying to start a big olde flame war, but just trying to find out the current state of things. UBI DRM Haters: Please refrain from using this thread as an opportunity to beat the dead horse again. I'm with you in spirit, but there's no need for more drama at this stage. We made our point when SH5 was released and through our vote of 'No-Buy'. UBI DRM Apologists: No need to defend the DRM or UBI. This isn't an attack, and if there are holdouts like me still around, you aren't going to change our minds at this point. (We're a stubborn old lot!) Thanks in advance for a straight answer and update on the status of all this. |
