When I left Kiel this morning everyone was chattering away. Escort spotted. Smoke on the horizon. All that gab.

Suddenly I noticed nobody was saying anything. Not a single voice response to commands though the crew still talks to me if I address one of the "selectables" directly.

Anyone have any idea what happened? Is this a bug I haven't read about in the bugs thread...theres over 50 pages in that one and I went thorough each and eveyone. Multiple searches revealed nothing about this quirk either.

Could there be a undocumented hotkey that turns off speech and I hit it accidentily?

All other sounds are working normally.

Restarting didn't solve the problem. Reloading a save did not provide the cure.

I had to log out and reboot the computer in order to get the voices back.

I think I have a handle on what knocked out the voices. It seems to have occured after my anti-virus program popped up with a voice announcement that my virus data base had been updated.

Still a mystery why only voices were silenced and not all sounds.

As a matter of conserving system resources I routinely shut down the anti-virus program while sub-simming. Of course that action doesn't halt the auto update. Doing that whould require constantly going into the program and turning off/on this setting. Another hassel of requiring a permanent active internetconnection to play.

No idea , have you asked that lunatic cook to cook a special meal . I notice if i dont enable the cook to feed the special meal and the crews morale runs out i cannot fire torpedoes LOL .
