Need some questions answered

Ok guys. What is going on with the Atlantic mission after happy times? I chose that one not the Med. I havnt ran into a SINGLE convoy in 6 months. They all appear around me , but no where near me and i cant catch them.... what am i suppose to do? If i spot anything its only 5 or 6 destroyer hunter group , bu NO convoys , how am i suppose to do anything if they dont spawn near me. I mean i go to where the most updates appear on the Map (I have contact update on) and i still cant get them. And the ones i do find are single oil tankers or something 7500 tons. What am i suppose to do? How do i find convoys...?

Also , submarines. I have been in the Type C submarine since like 1941 :/ and i have sank over 700 thousand tons of shipping but still no luck with a no sub , is the type C the best you can get?
