Default UFO? Sabotage? Stuck in the middle of Pacific

Hi guys! I’ve got a serious problem. After very successful patrol (1 BB, 2 CA, 4 DD, some Passenger Liners) I was returning home (Pearl) when near Midway engines stopped and I got the Hull damaged message. I wasn’t attacked by a plane, nor a ship, nor did hit anything, just got 90 damage and no power (no specific damage was reported, only hull damage)… Can’t even limp back home now. Is there any way to edit the save file to get me closer to Pearl (so I can dock) or restart the engines? I tried editing the activeuserplayerunit.upc changed damage to 40, then 0, then checked the rest of parameters and everything seems to be in perfect order but when I load the save I still have 90 damage, and can’t get my boat to make even a 1 knot…

Welcome to the boat mate.

Hope you have an earlier save to go back to, if not you just learned a valuable lesson. Save early, save often.
I always save just before I head home, just in case.

Are you patched to at least 1.4?

Early in the war there are Jap planes near Midway when there are not supposed to be, maybe one of them got you in high TC????

Hi!

I’ve U-boat Missions installed and it patched the game automatically during installation. I’ve a save but I made it before meeting the Jap Task Force and sinking Ise (or Hyuga).

I read that someone had had similar problem and he hadn’t found a way as well. In which of the save files are my current position coordinates? I checked all and found only the waypoints of the plotted course. If nothing can be done will have to try again then…

I might have sailed in the wrong direction... That dolphin I asked for directions looked pretty suspicious.

I know you can go as fast as 2048 in time compression and the game will drop you out in time to crash dive. It may work at a faster time compression, (not sure where the treshold is) but I know if you don't go over 2048 you'll be OK.
