Default Lights...

Still holding out. I almost bought it the other day, but alas..not yet. Sounds like mods are making it a better game.

Few questions.

With the skylines at night, are they lighted up enough that you can see ships by them as subs did in WW2?

What is the experience at 100% with cams and contacts off? I assume it's possible to cut off all the arcadish maps and sonar screens, ect?

Can you cut off the fake text talk boxes above the crew and are they always there or only when talking?

Short answer: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/forumdisplay.php?f=249

Shorter answer: Yes, to all.

Harbors can lit up, so much so that several mods to darken them were released. There are mods to remove the "pac man" stuff also, but turning off map contacts does that as well. There were talk box removal mods before the game was even released. Since they are currently bugged, they are on most of the time.

Exactly right on all counts.
SH5 is worth buying at this point. That's my report. Your call of course, it's only going to continue getting better and better from today onward.
