Default can't personaly do it either , but I love the look of your lightning.

one very small suggestion I like the glow ball at the start of the strike, you may want to consider trying out the look if you also added smaller glow balls, at the major forks of the strike as well, not the minor ones but the big main branches tend to create hot spots as well ( at least to the human eye). just food for thought. it is the way I do my lightning when I airbrush.

Gunfighter,

PM me and I'll give you my email address. I've been known to do the odd graphic now and again.

G'day Gunfighter,

Not sure if you got my e-mail, so I decided to post up the converted images here as well.

I converted all your originals to DDS and TGA format.

Download here:http://www.filefront.com/16026963/Lighting.rar/

and to make it easier to see if the new images will work in game I also converted them to SH5 sizes and put them into a "Mod", JSGME ready format.

Download here:http://www.filefront.com/16027011/Lighting%20Mod.rar

To make the "Mod" I had to resize and rotate your images as the game uses a 256x512 size. I could only find TGA format in the file structure so that is why I converted your images to both TGA and DDS formats.

I hope this helps out.

Cheers,

Nauticalwolf.

I had a bug problem, with back windows version
ready to install in a mission in the storm. I start the mission only by installing this mod and again the same bug.

Personally, I find the original textures and lightning this one too big, and it still lacks the effect of intense light at this specific phenomenon

for example http://www.astrosurf.com/rom1/photo_nature/eclair3_.jpg

but I suppose it's difficult to replicate the lighting effect without going through the config files games.

good luck for the future

G'day astradeus,

Can you pleas explain what you mean by a bug?

The lighting mod only replaces the game textures, there's no scripting yet so all it should do is change the image of the lighting. I peraonally haven't seen lighting in the game. Spend to much time below decks

So.. maybe its time to make a new [REL] or [WIP] thread?
With link to it in first post

I will give it a try asap - it seems to be one of 'must have mods' and part of some bigger enviromental mods in future.

Keep up a good work guys!

Gunfighter,

Its good that the textures are working as planned. I'll start having a look for where they are "called for" and see if I can't do something to adjust the scale.

This is not normally my bag - I'm normally just graphic artwork and some 3d stuff but I'll have a look and see what I can find

I have played SH5 and just got a flash of Lightning close to the Sub and it looked great ,so the Game must resize the lightning to however close it is to the Sub but I missed the screenShot you know how fast you have to be on the buttons to get a shot. Thanks again for your help.
If anyone gets a close up shot of the new Lightning please post a Picture here.

What parameters do I need to use to get lightning in a single mission?
