Hi Guys:
How do you aim the aft torpedo, you do not see the guide line in the TAI when I fire it the torpedo makes a hard left, the bearing and angle dials are at 0, not sure how this works, thank you gents. ![]() Rich |

Same as the front ones, just have to have Tube V selected and point your periscope towards bearing 180. You can hit things to the side with the rear tube, but it's generally best for things behind you. Turn your sub to bring your stern to bear then as you spin towards 180 degrees on your scope the TAI line will appear.

Hmmm.... that's weird... Did you have the TDC on or off? In SH5 terminology, TDC off means that the TDC is not linked to the movement of the periscope.
One other thing is that SH5 resets the AOB when you take a "speed" reading. This can cause huge problems at short range. The best advice would be to get TheDarkWraith's TDC interface which shows the TDC dials. You'll be able to see what's going wrong as you can clearly see the gyro angle. As a rule, for a target with 0 speed, if you point the periscope at 180, the number 5 tube should show a gyro of 0 (or 360). Then again some torpedoes did have faulty gyros or got their rudders stuck and thus became "circle runners". |
