Default Seperate JSGME install question

Ok, I have JSGME in use for my steam version SH3 install and it works fine. What I want is a seperate JSGME for my steam SH5 folder. I downloaded JSGME I get the welcome to Jonessoft generic mod enabler (JSGME)! and then at the bottom it has MODS entered in for the folder. I click oK and get ;

[C:\Users\jim\Appdata\local\Temp\7zOE9E2.tmp\MODS]

How the heck does one direct JSGME to install to my seperate steam SH5 folder?

Regards...

  • Create a shortcut to JSGME.exe and put it everywhere you want. You can just clone the one you are using for SH3.
  • Once finished, right click on the shortcut's icon to bring its properties on screen, and select the <shortcut> tab.
  • In <start in:> field enter the complete path to where SH5 was installed on your system and press <OK>. In my case I entered: "C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5".
  • The first time you doubleclick on the shortcut, JSGME should create automatically a <MODS> subfolder within your main SH5 folder.

If you are not familiar with windows menus I am attaching a generic screenshot that should do things easier for you:

The field you have to modify is the one circled in red.

or even easier is to put the jsgme exe installer in the file you want it then run it, after its installed right click on the exe file and tell it to send shortcut to desktop.

from there you right click it to rename it so you know which game its for then you can put it anywhere you want it or just leave it on the desktop.

you can do the same thing with the main game folder by copying it then renaming it then right click its exe file to send a copy to desktop to be renamed so that way you can keep all your seperate installs seperate and install or uninstall mods just for the game version you want so you can have multiple versions of the game if you want.

to keep things straight you need a seperately named exe for the game as well as the jsgme so you can keep straight which game version you are running or modding seperate
