[WIP] Historical Emblems for Type VII's

I've been working on putting in the historical emblems for all the type VII boats that were known to have one.

So far I have the VIIA's completed and the first three VIIB's.

I know the emblems are reversed on the menu screens however if you don't reverse them there they are then reversed on the boat itself. That seemed to be the lesser of two evils.

I'll probably do two versions, one with only the historical emblems, and one with the default ones and maybe a few others that just look cool.

Great idea. Kind of surprised how few emblems were available in the game, unless of course there's some kind of trick to unlocking these as you progress...

It is an error! On the image emblem U-48 type "В", and at you a boat type "А".

Does the game allow you to place emblems only on the front of the CT?

As far as I can tell yes. I'm sure it could be modded differently eventually.

Yes, the screenshot was just to show a different emblem used than the defaults. You are free to use any emblem you like on any of the boats as you see fit.

Hi Guys:

Wondering saw a video of someone changing the emblem to something else, how do I do that, actually I am not seeing any emblem as of yet, do I have to get to a certain point in the game, thanks Guys.

While in the u-boat pen click on the engineer dude standing next to your boss dude then say to you need to upgrade your ride. In the menu that pops up select the tab on the top right called "camouflage", you should then have a tab on the left called "emblems".

Cool I'm looking forward to this one. Also once you get upgraded to the VIIC the emblems appear on both sides of the conning tower.

Does anyone have the basics modding info about the preferred pixel resolution and the preferred filetype?

I suppose it is some 24bit rgb + 8 bit alpha?

Good, nice to know. I assume one side of the emblem is still flipped?

Filetype is 256x256 DDS but as for the other stuff I don't know off the top of my head. Compare with the default ones, they are in Data\Texture\TNormal\tex, look for U-xxx.dds

You can't do it from the game menus. If you want to you could overwrite one of the default emblems with yours or add new sections in the UPC files, which is what I'm doing.

The emblem for U-96 is already in the game. Select it from the menu where you upgrade your sub in the u-boat pen, Camouflage on top right then Captain's Emblem on the left.

I'm doing the boats in order, so far I'm up to U-74. Some have great quality emblems, some are lower quality. If anyone is great at graphic designs and wants to draw emblems from scratch, let me know.

the Emblems.upc is empty. How to use the file? Could You explain the format of the file, please?
