crashing after using telescope

hey, i bought the game from steam 2days ago
but since yesterday, the game seems to randomy crash,
it happend 3 times, and it only happens randomly if i wanna use the telescope
i got no mods installed, anybody got the same problem? or a problem solver?

Do you know what version of the game you have ? Which patch ?
Do you have SH4 + the expansion pack to play Uboats or just the SH4 game ?

Tried tweaking graphic settings ?

Welcome to the boat mate.

Do not put the game in the Programs Files folder if you have Vista or Win 7.

Do not use the default GU.exe but make a short cut for the SH4.exe and use that.

These may or may not fix the problem but are necessary.

Make sure you are patch to v1.4 I think steam only has v1.3.
If you have the U Boat addition than you have patch v1.5.

Other than that we need more information, system specs,etc.
