Default GOBLIN - Dat is damaged after saving...

Have experienced a serious error. When adding a controller-entry in the Dat-File (particles) i can save and everything is ok. But the file is smaller after savin (about 100kb) and when i try to load it again, he says (all) controllers have lost their owner object?! The file is destroyed.

Any suggestions on that? Its quite impossible to modify dats and create new effects. I was suggesting, that he sets no new id for the new entry, even he adds it. And during saving, he losts all ids. I cant add ids manually, like in s3d. But the lost of 100kb data is really strange...

I simply do not understand.

PLZ HELP

Goblin editor seems to work like MS visual studio. You have to have all the associated files open at the same time, like a project file. Two ways to go about that. Open them all at once by selecting multiple files. Or open the master GR2 file, and then merge in the supporting files. Not sure which is the better way to go about it.

heres the progress, opening a dat file with particle controllers:

SAVING the file...everythings still fine. All the controllers turn from red (changed) into black again. Closing goblin, BUT THEN...when opening the file again:

WTF?!

Bioware was on the Neverwinter 2 game I think, and iirc in that editor, one had to copy an element before you could use it. Simply changing an existing one wouldn't work. Or maybe I remember it wrong, it has been a while.

the problem occurs everytime you change ANYTHING in the dat...not only adding something...

this is odd...did i miss something?

another problem is, you cant edit these dats in s3d any more...he cant read them the right way. particle controllers are not structured any more, only a bunch of bytes.

Goblin Editor is unable to save .dat files, only the new extensions (like .sim, .chr, etc)
