OM attacking convoys equipped with radar

Hey all I'm in need of some hints and tips.

It's 1943 and the convoys I meet are now equipped with radar

when will their radar pick me up and how close can I come?

2nd a more general question. I'm in St nasaire in a type 9 can I get a transfer to another boat/flotille?

When the METOX pick up the enemy radar I normally check if it is closing (updats on

) if I find a ship with radar I move to intercept position flank speed then dive... Meaning more harder long range shots.

I thionk lurker needs to answer about tranfers, if he knows.
