Any good Iraq/Afghanistan FPS for PC?

Just wondering if there are any good FPS type games focusing on Iraq/Afghanistan for PC.

I was looking forward to the 6 Days in Fallujah game as it seemed to have great potential but it seems to be dead due to objections from various entities for what I consider, ridiculous reasons.Esp considering Marines who were there were playing a huge role in devleoping the game.

Anyway, just wondering if there are any others? Havent found a lot of games that focus on current wars and should.

Wrong area?

There's only two suggestions I can think of, but neither are actually focused on the area you're asking. The issue you're asking for is still full of controversy and many developers aren't willing to touch it directly. The next Medal of Honor is suppose to take place in this area, with the COD series touching it briefly as well.

ArmA II isn't based in Iraq or Afghanistan, but it does have mods that make it possible. The game itself is just a commercial version of a larger military simulator used by the USMC as well as various other armed forces.

The Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2 also has a strong focus within Iraq and Afghanistan. It makes a fairly arcadey game something of a rival to ArmA.

Insurgency (source mod)

both are very diffrent. One is full game, very realistic, air-land-sea sim

secondy is only mod, CS-style shooter, but fits in 100% to your call

keeps trying to make me download stuff for AA 3 which doesnt seem interesting to me, its some future conflict in ex soviet type places with fake enemy weapons and all.Ah

That is a city for you. On top of that I recommend downloading some insurgent addon (sorry don't have links or even names in mind right now) and create some missions.

Not precisely an FPS (it's a third person tactical shooter), but you might check out Full Spectrum Warrior. You can get the original free and legal (it's ad-supported) from Fileplanet.

For the screenshotted city download, first of all like I said you need Armed Assault (ArmA) and preferably patched to v1.18 release candidate btw don't be scared of the "release candidate" patch, its rock solid and fully working. Then you need the PMC 51km Desert terrain addon.

If/when you get around to try that terrain, the city in question is "City 34", its on north-central area of the map.

There is also CAT Afghanistan terrain released, this is quite nice Afghan theme terrain, its ported from Operation Flashpoint so its bit more low quality object wise. Still nice terrain overall.

As for insurgent or other OPFOR for your missions, I'm afraid I cant help because I'm not familiar with many of the insurgent/terrorist addons, I'd recommend you browse into armaholic.com and armedassault.info and start digging through their download areas.

If you need help installing addons / mods, please read PMC Addons / Mods online manual: how to install a mod. If you need further help on anything, just ask and I'll do my best to help
