Slight Question

Hey friends;
Is there a guide to downloading Mods (not super mods, I got that under control,) because I fail and think I am doing it wrong.

A good mod has a readme file. It should explain everything you need to do to make it work. But some are lazy and forget to include one. (yeah, me too)

But the JSGME is pretty much a standard thesedays, most of the mods expect you to extract a folder-structure with files into the "Silent Hunter 4/MODS" folder and use the jsgme program to enable them. (move from left panel into the right side) But sometimes mod-creators put in an extra level of folders and so the files do not end up at the appropriate place. I guess you need to know the basic SH3/4 folder structure to notice what's not where it is supposed to be. Anyway it's easy to disable the particular mod again, .... and harmless. Then check the mod's folderstructure.

It does help to name the specific mod you are having problems with.

the mods in the download section can be trusted. there were so many simmers before who tried them out, that I dare to assume whole-heartedly: "only the best survive"

Thanks Pisces, I just realized I WAS doing it right. Failure here, because I haven't downloaded mods in a LONG time .
