i want to put a american radar on a German boat

is this possible ??

Have patiance , why do you want to do this? Theres no difference aside from ranges between radars. Do you mean visual model or how the radar acts?

how the radars act i mean

i want always to try run on a convooi ore something
then i'm there they are gone lol

i want to try to look and track them with the radar

well the germans have radar too, just start a campaign in 43 or later and youll have radar.
The German radar isn't any better or worse than the US.

If you really want US radar instead of German radar, it's gonna be a tough job cause you'd have to edit quite a number of different files.

tog ietsje makkelijker bij nader inzien

1. - open data\upcdata\upcunitsdata\equipment.upc and search for the radar you want on your u-boat
e.g.:

[Equipment 29]
ID=SDRadarAntennaLate
[...]
ExternalLinkName3D= NSS_LateSD
[...]

now copy the external link name.

2. - open data\upcdatage\upcunitsdata\equipment.upc, find the radar you want to replace and replace its external link name with the one you just copied. It will still have the same name as before, but all specifications and 3d models will be the US ones.

That's all

If you want to change the display, that's not enough though. In that case you'll have to change the entire sub interior: open data\submarine\subname\subname.cfg and change the "Interior=*****" line into: Interior=data/Interior/NSS_Gato/NSS_Gato

I installed the Tench class sub mod, but, the radar does not work on the surface. It is based on the internal config for the Gato.

Is there a setting in a config file someplace that I could change to enable the surface radars?

I am using TMO and RSRD (TMO version)
