How to add deck gun in single mission mode?

In single mission mode, when you pick the sub you wish to play from list i.e. D2 1944. It has AA, but no deck gun.
Can you add a deck gun somehow?

Hmm... you are talking about the smaller sub...

It cant take a deck gun... only flak.

Nope - Not the small subs like the type II - the big subs like the VII and IX, they come with AA equipment but no deck gun in single mission mode.
In Campain mode you can buy a deck gun with renown. But appears you can't in single mission mode. Can you chage the config files somewhere to get deck guns?

Simply pick the vessel of your choice but choose an earlier year, for example 1942.
