Default Mourning trees

Please dont take this as a political statement in the everlasting treehuggers vs right wingers thingy here on subsim, I just think its downright hilarious:

Yep.. that's exactly why I prefer to keep hippies out of environmental topics/debates, as their antics totally defeat the purpose, and they utterly derail things.

The annoying thing though is that anyone who cares about the environment and what is happening to the planet gets automatically labeled a hippy in an attempt by certain groups to deflect and ignore some very real problems.

I found that video to be more disturbing then anything else, but I always find extremism, no matter the flavor, disturbing

No more silly than people getting together for prayer vigils.

People express themselves as they see appropriate. They did not seem to be hurting anyone.

I used to send this one out to all my hippy/vegan/liberal/Phish listening/bad art loving friends and even they found it cringeworthy.

This activity is just waaaayyyy out there. It looks to me like these folks just are in search of a good cry. I guess trees are as good a subject to cry over as any.

There are all kinds of environmentalists around. I know a guy who used to be a combat diver and is the most staunchest environmentalist you'll ever find. Even at 50+ years old he's also the last person you wanna mess with.

How would it look like, to have your ass handed to you by a 'hippy'.

I'd be more worried about the diseases I'd pick up from him.

Oh I think he knows more about diseases and how to avoid them then you do considering he has an MA from biology. Actually he's probably already written a dissertation so that would make him a PhD.

That's right. He also helps the cops in finding companies that pollute the environment. It's great fun listening to his stories about how they confronted some dirt farmer with a fat law suit.
