a way to add some fish in the seas?

I am bored of looking at the dark sea void in shIII & just wondering if there was aNy way possible to perhaps animate some low poly fishys or small schools to randomly swim/follow the subs underwater similar how the gulls do above water..

perhaps sharks, dolphins, or whales now and then to be seen rarely as your upside looking threw your binoculars?

I'm thinking it might be nice to see various colored fish & sizes scurry about and sprout some form of life under water.

& besides.. adding 30-40 triangles I would imagine couldnt hurt..
though the scripting to make this happen might.

some may think thats stupid, but I for one like this idea
adding some realism to the water & game

perhaps fishing poles later! ..what? sailers gotta eat!

hehe

There are indeed whales and dolphins in SH3 GWX 3.0 but no sharks....yet! Just some land sharks swimming around the forums

Also there are docks where you will see a fisherman as well.

Don't forget to listen intently on the hydrophones for those farting shrimps

If you hear whales humping, be careful! It might be the Красный Октябрь!

On a more serious note, I think the whales and dolphins found in GWX was also released as a seperate mod back in the day, wasn't it?

I think they were in gwx...

Hm... have places around the docks, that at times spawn fish... so that fisherman will have something to catch... I dont think it would possiable to out at sea...

pity

i think it would really add to immersion, the sea floor has improved....the rest of underwater would be great bonus

Except for a rare flying fish, an occasional whale and a few dolphins, I don't think you can see many fish in the open ocean. You certainly can around a reef, especially in the Caribbean, and around land, but then you are in shallow water and I suspect the destroyers and air patrols could spot you also.

could someone mod scholl's..(is that the right spelling...not schools) of fish to appear periodically in the open ocean?...maybe the thought is better than the reality

maybe lots of fish would be a bit unrealistic....just thought Shockwave had an original idea

i would certainly add this

I believe the Ocean is full of noises....... I'm working on a sound mod that will bring the Sonar ears to life. The thing is to make the Wav file long so as NOT to sound like "Rush Hour"...on a Friday afternoon. I'm adding Unknown sounds as well as "Under water Quakes".....I've changed the volumes on all the different sounds so as not to sound like they are on top of each other.....Will test this weekend ...and then start a thread on "Feed Back"

in addition to fish one thing i would like to see in SH3 is the light shafts that are present in SH4. maybe we could model some simple objects and then put an animated texture on them (the light fading in and out) and then have them spawn underwater near the sub within the range of the underwater view distance - having them move in a constant direction and viola you have light shafts!
