[REQ] help change torpedo color

I have changed the .tga files in Data/library/Torpedo.dat but the new paint will not show up in game. What am I missing?

You mean you imported a new embedded texture in the .dat file?

If so all I can tell you is that if that texture file also exist in the \data\textures folders it will have precedence over the embedded one. Also if there if there's a dds file with the same name it will have precedence over the tga.

I don't know anything specifically about torpedoes, sorry.

Yup that is what I did. I did not know about the textures file though. Looks like I missed it. Thanks, I'll Look for that one tonight.

Well I looked and could not find the right file. I'm stuck.

I just want different colored fish, it can not be that hard.

Got the Ones in game to switch, but can not get the ones on the load out menu. Any Ideas where that File is? All I want are Black torpedoes with diferent war head color.

I think it's US_torpedoes512.dds and/or US_torpedoes512_sel.dds under \Data\Menu\Gui\Layout.

Son of a b....... should have known that Das FatherLand buys their torpedos from the Americans. Huh....explains the duds....

Worked. Thanks man! I was kinda gitt'n bugged about it. Sleepless nights, thoughts of .dat fiiles and .tga's running though my head.

Here's what I did. Finaly.....

Other Torps have diferent stripes and war heads now, along with propellors.

I know...I'm going to iespell.com now.

Interesting. Does the black nose make them harder to spot?

I haven't been caught yet.
Nailed a string of three Cruisers, without being fired on. Two in the first, Two in the second,and stern tubes swung around for the third. By the time I was back to position for a bow shot ( to finish off the wounded)
the first had sank, the second was driving full bore into the water at a 20 degree angle, and the third was almost lined up for a perfect shot.
Got her too.

Ya just got to love it when a plan comes together!

A bazillion years ago I worked on and captained tournament yachts - and I equate SHIV in some ways to dragging lures... hours and hours of boredom punctuated by brief periods of adrenaline and insanity. But those moments justify all the endless hours spent hunting...
