Changing text on notepad?

Hi everyone!

just installed Nicolas Periscope TDC 1.2 mod

. one small thing though that makes it unusable for me:

the notepad in the periscope views has become very small in order to make space for the TDC dials that the actual range measured by the stadimeter can no longer be seen. The text "ENTFERNUNG" (=range) is on top of it and the numbers are not to be identified. I guess this small notepad works wonderful when playing in english as "RANGE" is significantly shorter than "ENTFERNUNG".

I tried to solve this by searching for "GEGNERFAHRT" in my SH3 folder and came up with the file "de_menu". Assuming I have found the right thing, here is the entry I changed:

1998=ZIELRICHTUNG:
1999=TYP:
2000=LÖSUNG
2001=SCHIFF:
2002=ENTFERNUNG:
2003=LAGENWINKEL:
2004=GEGNERFAHRT:
2005=MAST:
2006=WINKEL (Markierungen):
2007=ENTFERNUNG 1:
2008=ENTFERNUNG 2:
2009=ZEIT:

to:

1998=ZIELRICHTUNG:
1999=TYP:
2000=LÖSUNG
2001=SCHIFF:
2002=ENTF.:

2003=LAGENWINKEL:
2004=GEGNERFAHRT:
2005=MAST:
2006=WINKEL (Markierungen):

I save, reload SH3, but it doesn't work

. I check the "de_menu" file again, it is as it was before my changes!!! Why and how can it restore itself? Is there a way to keep SH3 from restoring the original?

have found the reason!

using SH3Cmdr, which has the file de_menu as well under !BACKUP/...

This changed and everything worked wonderfully. Almost, only the tubes close themselves when cycling throufh them. before, they remained open after i openend them in the conning tower. Still a great

mod, thx to Nicolas and U-jagd team. My computer is unfortunately "just so" capable of running SH3 with GWX, so OLC with it's 16km athmosphere is not an option...
