Hi all,
2nd patrol (early September, '39) and I come across a task force comprising of 2 battleships, 2 heavy cruisers and a pair of destroyers on both ends. I am in a perfect firing position, but don't launch any torps. Why? Because I like to play as realistically as possible, and I had just received a radio message a few hours earlier stating that attacking Allied naval warships is discouraged in order to spare Great Britain any embarassment in these early stages of the war while talks are still in progress. Now my question is this: 1) Should I have just ignored said radio message and taken out one of these capital ships? and 2) Would there have been any kind of penalty for doing so right after receiving that radio message? I think I made the right choice as far as realism goes, but it sure hurt watching those big targets cruise through my sights! ![]() Dale |
