Default SH III on a 64 bit Vista

I recently upgraded to a Gateway 7026 with Vista, 64 bit, 4 GB Ram with a Nvidia 8800 GT.

I cannot get SHIII to play. I get this msg:

This application can be launched with a release version of Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2.1/98/ME/NT4.0/2000/XP/Server 2003 only.

Information: You will need this data when contacting customer support 3.4.71.19;3002

Anyone know what this means or how I get SH III to play?

Appreciate your help !

Ed

It runs fine on my computer 64bit vista. BUT you need the discount version sans starforce. You can get the starforce one to run, but it requires black magic

It's a starforce bug.

You can search the forums for possible solutions or buy a copy of SHIII without starforce.

I recommend uninstalling both StarForce AND SH3 and reinstalling, but when it comes up for StarForce to be installed, cancel installation of starforce and continue.

Upon doing that, since I believe SH3 is still DX9, set compatability for SH3 for WinXP SP2.

That's what I've done and never had a problem

There's no black magic involved. Starforce requires a driver update to run with Vista. I had the same problem.

http://www.star-force.com/support/drivers/

You should be able to find the one you need there. By the way, I would reccomend the discount SHIII anyway. No need to play with Starforce. You can pick one up for very cheap.
