Default Destroyer Command-Convoy to Freetown

Hi:

I have some problems to complete this default mission in the career.I have switched off three of the four boilers, changed the route and reduced the speed to the minimum(4 knts)for the convoy and the four escort DD but always I run short of fuel some 10 to 30nm from Freetown. The U-Boots are not the problem, the problem is the fuel for a so great range.
There are some way of added a little more fuel or refuelling with a tanker?

Thanks

I think you will need to edit the UDF file (Opens with notepad) of that destroyer and modify the range it can reach. IIRC that happened in some missions, the DDs were given their historic ranges but the developers forgot that refueling at sea was common in convoys

Hello All,

A few years ago I did some testing on DC's fuel consumption accuracy and I found it way off. Basically the developers were unaware that a steam plant's fuel consumption is very nearly proportional to its power output and a ship's propulsion power demand is very nearly proportional to the cube of its speed through the water. The end result was highly unrealistic ranges and endurances. As a result I never play DC for extended durations as the modeled fuel is nothing like what I experienced aborad real US Navy ships.

Sincerely,
