Default Question about jsgme please...

hi all.
Please, ive two questions about the jsgme:
1- When i install it, not appear in windows - control panel...so i cant delete it. Should this program appear there, or not necessary??...and so...is that a "bad" file???

2- How many times can i enable and disable a mod (usually i play wac4.1, all files in 1 big mod), untill appears corrupt files???

Thank you

1) It only installs inside of the SilentHunterIII folder and nowhere else. To delete it, all you have to do is delete the files from that folder. However, I can't think of any reason you would want to do that.
2)There is no way to tell how many times you can do this until a problem occurs. With today's large hard drives, the way to handle the problem is to have a second install of the game (use SH3 multi-install) and just switch (and make a new copy).
I have used some installs for months or years without any problem. When I do a lot of testing with multiple overwrites, activations and deactivations, I do had corruption problems after a while.

As Irish says, I also after a virgin install of the game copy the data folder and store it elsewhere. If a problem happens at a later time I have the option of erasing the "in game" data folder and copying my copy of the virgin data folder to the game folder. I usually just compare the jsgme snapshot and copy and paste a few file from my backed up data folder to the games data folder if it's just a case of a dozen or so files.......I'm hoping this may be helpful for you........

1. Correct, the JSGME_Setup.exe doesn't create such a reference in the controlpanel list of installed applications. It just asks you where you want the application to be placed and just extracts a few files there. The main application (jsgme.exe) and 2 text files for info. At first start the application creates a MODS folder and an extra .ini file. If you ever feel that you want to 'un-install' it you can remove those text files, the jsgme.exe, the .ini file and the MODS folder. But it's so little (except the MODS folder, that can become huge) I wouldn't bother if you don't use it anymore. It wil be removed anyway when you remove the game folder. (the game folder won't be removed by uninstalling the game, since the installer of that game/application doesn't know these jsgme file were ever put there. the OS refuses to delete a folder that is not empty)

2. If JScones did his work correctly: forever. But there is no way to tell if there is still some bug left in it. So, if you really want to know, just try until you get tired of it. Don't forget to tell Jscones what happend though.

Others have answered this, but to explain why JSGME doesn't add entries to your "Add/Remove" panel is simple - as you can install JSGME into every game you have--thus many times--adding "Add/Remove" entries for each installation has the potential of becoming confusing very fast.

JSGME won't corrupt your files. You, or your hard drive, will.
