Default The Sub's "Direction Tail" Lost In GWX

Hi buddies,
Could anyone know how to get back the "direction tail" or "heading tail" which on the map showing all ships, subs & aircrafts direction, just like the stock game. I think it could suit some rookie players of SH3 like me. Thank you !!

Try installing this with JSGME. It brings back the colored contacts and the tails too, I believe: http://files.filefront.com/GWX+Conta.../fileinfo.html

If I want to use this mod, do I need to :
- first roll-back SH Com
- then download the mod and install it in the mod folder
- open JSGME and move it in

Then when I open SH Com to play, I need to open at a port of milk cow?

Thanks,

BP

When I download this to my MODS file, all I get is a 7Z file. I try to open it but I can't. Also, when I look at JSGME, it does not show up. Shouldn't I have a file for this download? I also have the same issues with the All Weather Guns, SpySat and other similar mods.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Thanks,

BP

I clicked on the below Re-direct.
It took me to Jimbuna's FileFront site.
I clicked on "Download Now".
It opened another webpage for FileFont and then the File Download page came up.
I clicked on "Save" then selected to SAVE in my Mods folder. It states that the only save type is a .7z Document.
When Save completed for the 43.3KB document, I "Close".
I look in the MODS folder and the 7z file is there.
I tey to use JSBME but can't find the document. If i directly try to open the document, it tries to in "Windows Media Player" but cannot.
That's it.

Any help or ideas?

Thanks

7z. is a compressed archive. You need a program to unpack it.
Like this one. I did some testing with Zipgenius, another prog, but that failed on spanned archives in 7z format. Use the one on the link and your ready for 7z formats.

OK, I tried to download the .exe but it says tha the file is corrupted.

I then tried the .msi but it says that "This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor.

Is there some other file type that is more common that can be forwarded/emailed to me subsim account?

Or is there another way I can download from subsim?

Also, the Lifeboat mod is a RAR file, I can't open this either. Any ideas or is there another file compressor that is more univeral like .zip? I know I can open in zip if someone is willing to send it that way....pretty please.

Thanks & Good Hunting,

BP

Thanks,

Download 7zip from here:

http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Download the file from my FF page and save it to desktop

Unpack/unzip the file into your JSGME MODS folder

Enable the file using JSGME

Please excuse the following but I am trying to make sure I have all the steps since I will be trying to make these changes tonight at home.

As instructed, I will download the "7-Zip Command Line Version" file and save it to my desktop. Then I'll open it to install it.

Then do I still do the other steps that I was doing:
I clicked on the below Re-direct.
It took me to Jimbuna's FileFront site.
I clicked on "Download Now".
It opened another webpage for FileFont and then the File Download page came up.
I clicked on "Save" then selected to SAVE in my SH3 folder. It states that the only save type is a .7z Document.
When Save completed for the 43.3KB document, I "Close".

From here, I'm assuming that the 7-zip file will allow me to decompress the file. I will then move the appropriate folder to the MODS folder and install with JSMBE. Cross my fingers and hope it works, I can't wait to use soem of these Mods.

Please let me know if I missed any steps or need to do something else.

Don't worry....we'll get you sorted.

Easier still, simply go here: http://www.filehippo.com/

Scroll down to the Compression and Backup section and click on 7zip

A page will open with a green section on the right...click on the 'download latest version'

You can either run it from there or save it to desktop or another folder of your choice and install it into your pc from that folder.

That is correct

Jimbuna,

It worked!!!

Now I have to try to get the lifeboat mod to work. It is a RAR file and I saw that there was also a RAR at that same site.

BTW, do you remember a thread regarding a more powerful torpedo that was able to really blow up ships. I remember them saying that a destroyer would be blown in 2 pieces and each would be tossed in the air.

Thanks,

BP

7-zip will/should open a RAR file without any problems....simply unpack the mod into your JSGME folder and enable it.

I'm afraid I can't help you concerning the torpedo thread, my interests are more for a realistic perspective.

Anyone know how I can get rid of the tail and colors?

I'm running NYGM 3.1 and have used the Realistic contacts mod. I want to try something different where I can "see" the contact report but the speed and heading are not there unless it is mentioned in a radio report. Not as random but still will make me think twice about chasing down every contact that pops up on the map.
