Ahoy,
I have been away and haven't played SH3 for almost a year. For someone like me surviving Australia for 11 months was quite a challenge! ![]() As I said, I've had a quick look and all the below features seem to now be available for SH3. Could you please name the mods that add them to the game? I'd be most grateful for you help! In my 2009 Silent Hunter 3 Experience I would like to have: - GWX3!!! - NYGM mod is now compatible with GWX? No? There's something called War Ace Campaign 3.0 - can this be merged with GWX? - better sea (I've seen some BEAU-TI-FULL pictures of the waves, the sea texture and water lightening!) - new u-boot models (I only found type VIIC - are there others as well?) - better explosions - bigger ship variety - debris in the water, oil, crates, (dead) sailors, rescue rafts... - loooooong ship wakes, including u-boots ! - longer smoke trails AND EXHAUST U-BOOT SMOKE! ![]() - bow spray and water coming out of the u-boot vents... I think it's a part of the WAKES mod... (?) - REALISM&IMMERSION!!! I hope you won't send my googling... :/ Trust me - after such a long time away from the subject the amount of possibilities is huge and I don't want to miss a single mod worth checking out! Thanks! |

I have a mod for water coming out of the vents installed, its here somewhere.
Where did you find a new model for the VIIC? (I´ve also been out of the waters for a few years, its hard keeping up!) |

NYGM can't be merged with GWX, nor can WAC.
Most of the things you asked for (better environment, better explosions, more ships, and so on) are already in GWX. There are various other environment and explosion mods out there as well, but most of them will break things in GWX and you said compatibility was a big issue, so, it's up to you if you want to try them. There are also various GUI mods available and I'd recommend trying them. Check out Mikhayl's GUI, Hitman's GUI and my OLC GUI (in the OLC 'Gold' mod) for starters. They're all GWX compatible. You might also want to check out Longer Repair Times (LRT). I've never used it but many high-realism players like it, and I think there is a version for GWX3.

So seamen in the water, seamen in lefeboats and seamen in the air (shortly after thair ships blow up) are already in GWX3? So are the exhaust smoke and wake mods??

My advice would be to install GWX3.0, look at what is already included, then add additional mods to suit your taste one at a time. I would only add those mods that can be enabled with JSGME because they can be quickly and easily disabled if they conflict with GWX3.0. Good hunting ![]() |
