Default Unveiling the myth about carrots.

The following screenie busts the myth that carrots enhance your sight!

Myth BUSTED!
Note: The current screenshot also busts the myth that surface convoy attacks are hard as heck.

PS: I havent taken any action yet.
I have three choices.
Shell it amidships in hope that its ammo bunker will explode.
Shell it to its guns.
Flak it 'till death! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Any suggestions?

Shelled, flaked and rammed! Now she's resting in the sea bed.
-30% integrity but it definatly worth it! I mostly liked the "Ramming" part.
(I have a screenie too. I can post it if you want)

I don't know what mods you all use. But seriously in my game I had a trawler fire at me in fog before my watch officer even sighted it. The WO sighted it at 300m.
In NYGM3.2 in heavy seas overcast but during the day I was sighted by a Escort at 7000m and he fired and hit me from 6500.

Yea that's what I thought. I know I could tweak this but as the mod installed that's what happened. I havn't played NYGM in a night attack yet. Just getting started in it. Its suppose to be set up so day attacks are harder and night attacks are easier (at least as far as getting detected visually goes) compared to stock that is.

This happened in 1940, was surprised to be one hit from 6500m also. Must be an elite crew.

I decided though to leave the sensors alone for the escorts but I gave my crew better eyesight so I can maybe spot the convoy 1000 to 2000m(when there isn't fog) before they spot me so I have a chance to go around it or at least get in a position to follow until night time.

Its also suppose to make a difference what your aspect is in the mod. I was probably at a 45 to 60 degree angle to the convoy when I was spotted. But then changed to a parallel course at the 7000m range. I think the escort was already coming towards me before I was at a parallel course though. I had first spotted the convoy at 7400m. By the time I could determine its course and change my course I was at 7000m.

Nice in game senario, though I can't see a real life u-boat taking on a destroyer with a deck gun. He couldn't reload a save if it went poorly.

The one first hand account I read where a captain saw a dark silohette at close range. After realizing it was a destroyer he moved away and attacked the convoy from 1500m. I can't remember if he was surfaced or submerged at the time.

Utter rubbish

When did you last see a rabbit wearing glasses

That screenie looks suspiciously like GWX3.0 and OLC environmental....yet another positive step towards the realism of a dark Atlantic night

Well, here's the list of mods i use:
GWX3.0Commander with JSGME
16km atmo
Alternative loadscreen
axis mediteranean aircraft skins
enhanced damage effects
main movie "Das Boot"
merged campaign
Thomsen's sound pack
Late war sensors (temporarily, cause im trying to make a good music video with SH3 )

Actually, this is the second time this happens to me.
If the DD is completelly unaware of you, you can even come close enough to write "Kriegsmarine owns your @ss" on its hull!
I oneshelled the first one but this one was a tough nut...

EDIT: Whats OLC enviromental?
