I have been using Bing as my search engine for a few days now. I like it and it works well. I provided the link for anyone interested in checking out Bing.

It's just that we have gotten used to google, I guess.
![]() Still, "Bing" is the sound you get when you smash your forehead against the low-hanging metal ceiling lamp when you stumble into your home completely wasted on a saturday night. Could be better. ![]() "Hey, you know what time the game starts?" "Hold on a sec, I'll Bing it." ![]()

Yes, Google has become a verb! Bing is supposed to be the lightbulb that goes off above your head when you have an idea. You know, 'bing!'. I would have called it Bingo because when people get something they say, 'Bingo!'. Oh well, it is an ok search engine but Google is so deeply imbedded that Bing will not become popular.

Figured that was the reasoning behind the name, but I think it should be "Ding", "Bing" is definitely boney body part hitting 1/4inch sheet metal. How about "Eureka"? Much better, makes sense.
![]() I'd call it "Brainfart". Now that would catch on fast. ![]() Seriously, good point on Google being so imbedded in society/culture/whatever. My main concern is that they're tacking on more features and frills. It all just overcomplicates the search; there's a reason Google's main page is so barren. Straight forward and to the point is what matters... well, and getting proper results, offcourse.

Yes, Googles page is blank with exception of the search box to type in. I use that as my sign on page because....IT LOADS FAST! What is interesting about Bing is highlighting a word or words a small icon will appear. From this icon you can select another program to work with it. One of the selections is search with Google.

IE8 does that icon thingy as well, think they call them accelerators.
![]() Bing refering to Google is probably to avoid more lawsuits. They allready got fined just for including IE as default browser. Can't have them set a MS search engine as defalut too, and not make it easy to use the competition. They kinda do this with Live, but noone takes that serious, right? ![]() I use blank page for home. Even faster ![]()

No need to be sorry. I like Google a bit more and only because I'm more familiar with it. Although, Google does seem to get what I need in the first search.

I thought I'd give it a go and put in a search for "bing sucks", the results are amazing!
