[REQ] Type XXi boat

Is anyone working on a Type XXi to use in OM or UM? That would give us the full range of boats.

Welll I know that the guys at RFB did manage to convert the type xviii to type xxi spec.So far I don't know if anyone is working on including it in Op Monsun.And if they are,They'll probably be waiting for V.7(final)to come out before working on it.:hmm:

Well if there is "no campaign" to go along with it, adding it would be worthless. Also remember that Type XXI never made a "combat" patrol during the war.

May not have made a combat patrol, but they are a valible piece of submarine history. We should have one.

I am not trying to be disrespectful to anyone, but I do beleive the Type XXi should be a part of our fleet. My arguement come along the lines of this:

1. The XXi inspired the USN's GUPPY program.
2. The USN's Tang and Darter classes were also based on studies around the Type XXi
3. Several Eurpeon designs were based off the Type XXi
4. You can find many design influences on the nuclear boats of the Nautilus, Seawolf, Skate and even November classes.

5. The most important aspect of the arguement....it was one of the most advanced and petentually useful "super weapons" of Nazi Germany.

IMO it would be sad if we didn't give this boat a chance to live on our "World" of this sim.
