Default Qua vadis, Mr. President?

Three good reads about what kind of world and what future challenges any new American presdient will need to deal with, no matter who wins in November:

"Variable Geometry":

"The Rise of the Rest":

"America's new Agenda":

More essay on Amercia's needed effort to find it'S place amongst others in a multipolar world in this quarter edition of "Internationale Politik", running under the motto "Perspectives in a multipolar world":

If I may, can I ad to your list with:

"Brave new world".

It is a 'must' read.

Quote:
a new international order has arrived that has yet to be understood fully or accepted widely. The deleveraging and shifting of capital flows occurring globally at this moment are not reversible trends. The economic changes happening now are structural, not cyclical, and therefore truly transformative.

All I will say is that the decline of the U.S. will mirror the decline of the British Empire (to name one example).
Despite all that America stands for, the plutocrats have still managed to prosper.

If only people could resist a "free lunch"
