3 installs of sh3

Hi All
i hope someone out there can help me,i have 3 installs of SH3 on my computer one of which is modded a certain way and i dont want to lose it but i want to use the other install with a different set of mods that i can play around with as i want to learn to mod so i can give something back to this great forum,this is what i would like to end up with,
Three copies of SH3 one which is just patched to 1.4.one which is modded in a certain way and has SH Commander and a career,and the last one has SH Commander,SH Weather,SH Generator and mods etc

The last two will have their own careers which i dont want to clash.so i hopefully wil have two icons on the desktop for SH Commander but will point too two different games that will not clash
I hope that i have explained what i would like to do right

Place your game disc in your machine and choose the repair option.

Install the game and rename the file ie: SH3v2 and so on with the next install (not forgetting to rename the corresponding desktop icons).

Do the same with SH3 Commander.

Install MultiSH3 into each game installation to allow your save games to be ditinguishable from each other.

Rename your current install to anything other than SilentHunterIII BEFORE you use the repair option
Or will overwrite your current install

Then follow Jims advice above
