Default How do you control Depth

In SHIV, American side, I am currently in a Balao class submarine, the depth I can go states 450 but I know I should be able to go at least to 600 ft. In the game it tells me to press Cntrl+D to go deeper but how do I control my depth one I go to the depth I want to get to??

I've heard that you press the " A " key to level off.

Hiz to all!!! I'm new to this forum and to SH4 and naturaly i have questions :p.

Now i started a carrer in 1944 in a balao class sub but i cant take it more tha 450 ft depth because i cant find the way to instruct the crew to take the boat deeper tha then depth meter. I have tried ctrl+d but nothing happens with the "D" i go up to 330ft or sth close. I use the Silent Hunter 4 v1.4 without any mod. Anyone tha can help??

thanx

Avoiding depth charges, perhaps. The increase in sink time reduces their accuracy.

Be careful... I have had difficultys doing what you have in mind. I took my Balao I once had to 600 ft and it didnt level intill 650ft it started to leak and have its lights bust. (RFB)

Can you take your Balao to at least 850 feet in RFB?

I usually go up to 350ft or more to reload torpedoes/repair right after i have attacked a convoy the time usualy the destroyer search for me but the hit me sometimes with the DCs so great depth is sometimes usefull.

How far will RFB let you dive in a Balao?

I've taken my Balao to 840 feet (IIRC) before it imploded.

oddly, if you just hit the dive key, it will automagically level out at 600 feet, if you have any way on you. If you bring the boat to all stop, it will eventually continue to sink, with the bow planes in the full up position, until you hit the depth at which it starts to break and eventually crush.

I have take a U boat to 923 ft before and took no damage, Fleet boats cant do that. I also found that they implode at 1023ft.

How did you manage to go that deep??? when I hit the dive ("D") it takes me to 330ft no matter what (it's kinda funny because you hear everyone shout dive but the boat goes up )
