Well this is my first patrol on this career. Departed from Pearl Harbor in 1941 with a Tambor class sub. First they sent me outside of Tokyo to patrol. I sank one freighter (chopped it in the middle with 2 torps

In the mission objective doesn't it say the radius of your mission area ( abcd by efgh by XXX nm) ? They usually assign me with 150-200nm mission area. It's easy to draw this in your map with the compass tool (the thingy that makes the circle) and you can then always easily check if you're in the mission area to make sure you're not straying away. |

I believe you will need to sink 10000# of shipping. However, you do not have to stay in the radius. If that is not possible with the fuel you have remaining, go back to Pearl. More then likely you will be sent back to this patrol area again to complete the mission. You can look at this way, if you run out of fuel your career is screwed. If you get back to Pearl it is POSSIBLE your career is screwed because you did not sink ships. Either way, you could be screwed. I would head on home and see what happens. You might get lucky and sink some vessels along the way fulfilling the requirements.

when things are slow I hug the coast , hunt for tugs, fishing boats and sanpans and,,,,,,,,,BATTLE STATIONS SURFACE !!!
I have hit convoys of 5 large sanpans which my crew blasted to bits ( saving my torpedos for bigger game.) This made the desk jockeys (RAMFS) happy and all was well. Good hunting, Lad.
