Does the sim model that Japanese underwater sub detector?

Is that why eveytime I stick my head above water in daylight there are Japanese planes virtually on deck?...seemingly following my every submerged move?

According to Hoyt and others Japanese aircover was a real and constant threat...but criminey... the sim does seem to go a bit overboard in this area. (how many planes would the Japanese need to field in order to cover each and every square foot of the Pacific theater?...which is about what we face on patrol...I'm guessing 100s of thousands )

And if the developers were aware of Jikitanchiki and did work it into the mix...it appears way too early. '43 would be soon enough.
