the ships all use the #funnel_smoke effect (ID: 6DD778C0004D3491 from hex editor - you have to reverse the bytes for use in S3D) from the particles.dat file. You can make your own 'diesel_funnel_smoke' effect and add it to the particles.dat file so that your ship can have this effect. Better yet, make your own .dat file for it so that it doesn't 'mud-up' the particles.dat file.

how about I teach you how to do it yourself? The benefits of you learning how to do it far outweigh someone doing it for you.

Albrecht von Hesse was working on a complete smoke mod, and pretty intensely, too; but he hasn't been around for a while now.

Hi VonDos,

in LSH3, i've bulid in 3 types of smoke (based on ANVART's Smoke Mod): one for motrships/diesel, one for most merchant and all warships and one big fat smoke for old steamer:

And an example vor the modern motor(diesel)ship:

Looks great Rowi58!

Edit: Depending on your video card, you should try setting AA on, not to application controlled", this will get rid of the jaggies.

Thanks for that hint. I'll try if my gra-ca can do it (nearly 3 year old ATI).

Really cool images, Rowi!

Now i'm trying to create my own smoke effects; RACERBOY is teaching me how to do this; a new, interesting challenge, in hexadecimal code world
