Default Kiel Canal Problem (GWX 2.1)

I started in Kiel 1939 having a IIA boat.

The problem is that the TC is not increased until 4 in most of the canal route. If you see the map you will see the routes of canal that are like shark teeth(!)(corners, angles) . There the boat wont get higher than 4x TC.

In GWX 1.3 the was not such a problem.
The GWX team should be informed of that.

Any ideas or solution ?

What? Not trying to be rude, but I can't read that fancy script at all.

sometimes the 'route out' may need a little shove here and there, away from the sides of the canal. i can go through at about 128tc which is pulled to 8tc when nearing ships etc.
do i understand you ??

choose a clearer script as well - its virtually unreadabubble

edit: yes !!

Max TC when near land is 4 in the main.cfg file(I think that is the correct file). That is why it isn't letting TC get >4. you can get into the .cfg file and change that if you want to.
The SubCommander mod allows you to set the TC when near land a lot easier if you have that.
hope that helps.

As for the problem, do you use SH3 Commander? It allows you to set the "When Near Land" TC to anything you want. Of course then you have to watch out yourself exactly how near you get.

The community manual link is dead.
Also the main.cfg file says TC Landproximity =128
The only value with 4 is Character anim.

There are 2 Main cfgs

One in SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg and the other in MyDocuments\SH3\data\Cfg

Check both say 128

If it already says 128, I can't think of anything, unless: are you using 16km? I've had problems with the Watch Officer spotting and respotting the same ships, which bumps me back to 1 (my setting) all the time.

On an unrelated subject, you should be using SH3 Commander. It tops my list of "Most Important Mods", even before GWX. There are just too many things it lets you adjust with the touch of a button, and too many things it changes for the better, to not use it.

The other main.cfg( MyDocuments\SH3\data\Cfg) says 4x , so i will change that to 128 or higher.

Thanks

No worries

Am guessing that you didnt delete the folder in your documents when installing 2.1 or when the game first started it would have set that to 128

Or

You ran SH3 without GWX first which would have set it thus

Meh
As long as you are now sorted
