In all seriousness, I think the development of this sort of thing should actually encourage the development of railguns (which I imagine would be harder to counter with something like this) and terrain-hugging missiles. Ordinary ballistic rockets will probably start becoming obsolete soon.

I'm thinking anything with a warhead is vulnerable. A railgun uses kenetic energy. You can probably heat it all you want and the most you are going to do is make it less hard upon impact due to its molecular binding being compromised, but in the end, you probably won't lessen much of the destruction it causes. So I have to agree with you.

The only way to effectively counter a railgun round is with another railgun I would assume. Talk about hitting a needle in a haystack!
