What are the 3d file types for SHIV. While you're at it what are all the basic file types ( i.e. 3d, sound, config, textures) and how do you edit them?

or you may want for me to read your post
![]() for editing SH4 objects you need the excellent program S3D. You can edit virtually everything that can be edited on an object using just this one little program! You can't edit 3d models in S3D itself, but you can use it to extract/insert models into the .dat files SH4 uses. S3D supports the .obj file format, you can use an external 3d editor to edit the objects. EDIT: YEAH! Got promoted to XO! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Blender is a great 3d modeling program, and it's FREE (open source)! And it's portable, so you can run it from a thumb drive.
You can import .obj files to it too, so it should work for this application. http://portableapps.com/apps/graphic...ender_portable

Blender is a very powerful 3d modeling program yeah, but it's got the most confusing GUI I've ever seen in my life.
I recommend Misfit Model 3d, it's a bit more basic than blender but you can do all simple modeling and texturing work very easily. It's got such a very intuitive GUI a lobotomized blind man could model in his sleep. just follow the link i put in my 1st post.

I agree that the Blender GUI is confusing... at first. But once you get used to it, it's one of the most efficient interfaces I've ever encountered in a 3d program. But yeah, it takes a few hours of frustration to get there.
