Default Tutorial for DW

Is there a tutorial for Dangerous Waters?
I'm too confused using the sonar, the wire, etc... It's diferent compared to the Silent Hunter saga.

There are Tutorial videos on the Dangerous Waters CD which provide a brief introduction to various aspects of the game including sonar.
Also have a look at the Commanders Academy Wiki

Edit: forgot to mention the Tac manual, get it on subguru.com (it is called something like "Timmy's Tactical Manual")

The manual of the DW CD is to deep and complicated (at least for me). I prefer another one, more simply and clear...

Mh I can't see I mentioned the actual DW manual in my post before.
I told you about three other sources, so I cannot see the point in your last post Sirkam
It can be helpful to have a multiplayer session in a training environment scenario with an experienced skipper who can explain the sonar basics. Also it is best to pick a single sub-platform and learn to cope with it, then have a look at the other playable vessels.

To be honest I can't see anyone learning the game efficiently if they don't read the manual, except if you maybe played SC or 688 before DW or have some knowledge about modern naval platforms and tactics. I didn't find the manual hard to understand and comprehend.

With that said, the TACMAN mentioned by Janus makes for some good reading and goes into the tactical side of the game a bit more than the manual - which most of the time just tells you how to push a button and not WHY you should.

Also, Molon Labe made an ASW tutorial mission on TMA (subbased). There is a very good walkthrough in .doc format in the zip. Naturally you can find it on www.subguru.com , but there is a thread about it somewhere here too.

Thanks for the hat tip.

I should mention though that the tutorial mission/walkthrough will be of limited use to someone who has not read the manual and become familiar with basic ship station functions.

Actually if you play in multistation with someone that already knows the ins and outs of dw the learning process is much much quicker. :p

My own three steps method to learn DW :

1- Read the manual

2-Play the game

3-Go to step 1

You can also meet up with someone online who can design a training mission for the two of you and you talk through Skype. That's how I trained one of my friends. He did read the manual but I helped him through it a bit with some simple multiplay missions.

Don't forget to download the LWAMI mod. To put it simply, it's the greay wolves of dangerous waters.
