How to change load screens?

I would llike to place my own custom main load screen. But so far my attempts have failed. Any ideas?

Try contacting Kriller2, he's working on something similar. Or, find a mod that was released a few days ago that did just that. Study the file structure and see what that guy changed. Hold on, I'll dig up the thread...

Ah, Doc can't get it 'cause it's FileFront. IT Dept. banned all remote proxies. Is there another link?

The file is called something like "IntroLoading.dds" (I'm at work right now and can't access my post on filefront either). There are two similar files, one of which only contains the "Silent Hunter 4" and the red loading bar. IIRC, the folder is in sh4\data\menu\loadingscreen. You need to edit the .dds, or convert the .dds to a jpeg or something else you can edit.

If you can wait a bit, when I get home tonight I can PM you with more details.

No worries. The file you want is sh4\data\menu\loading\intro_logo_bkg.dds. If you don't have a graphics program that can work w/ dds files, do a search in this forum for "dds converter" and you'll find a program that can convert dds files to jpeg, tga, etc., and back again.
