After a few months of learning stock DW, I've finally enabled lwami mod and boy! What a difference, good work guys.
I've bumped up into a few issues however, maybe they're part of the mod? 1) Special forces in Campaign Mission One appear braindead, they'll launch towards the target until they bypass it completely and zoom off into the distance. (Map reading skills?) 2) Depth keeping seems to be a bit off, every time I order my sub to ~20 metres, the sub will rise too quickly and end up around 14-15 metres until it realises I'm frantically trying to dive back under the surface again =). Any ideas guys? Or am I having a 'why can't I shoot my 65cm at subs' moment? |

1. They are drifting away because of the sea currents and winds. Disable the winds and currents in the options.
2. I noticed that in the first mission when extracting the special forces i had to surface to extract them while the manual says something like min depth 54 feet and min speed 3 knots to extract them.

Thanks Oscar, disabling currents, wave riding and wind has solved my special forces problem.
My Akula is still being manned by cretinous planes men though, the 688i behaves itself when coming up to periscope depth, but the Akula always over shoots and ends up on the surface ![]() |

Chainging speed while changing depth can often cause your sub to miss the intended target. Either speed up/slow down before you change depth or after you stabilize on your new depth.

The more I play with this, the more I'm convinced it must be an odd bug.
Grab one of the Akula-II hulls, slow to 4 knots and then set depth to 19 metres. The Akula-II will constantly screw up it's depth and rise to ~16-17 metres. This doesn't happen at speed (~10 knots ish) It doesn't seem to effect the Akula-I Hulls. Who'd like to give this a test and see if it's reproducible on a different pc. |

Hmm, I tried it out and you are correct.
Akula II: First test: 10kts, 150m. Rose to 18m, no overshoot. Second Test: 4kts, 150m. Set depth for 18m, but the ship continued to rise, causing the sail and the TA Pod to broach. It finally stopped at about 14m before sinking back down to 18m.
