I want to build my 1/72 Revell Gato Sub model as the Tautog, a Tambor class boat, at the time of Pear Harbor. Since Gatos evolved from the Tambor the conversion is not to bad (I know I have to slice of 4 scale feet of the models length and an after market company is comming out with an early war fairwater for the coning tower).
I'd appreciate it of anyone could share with me any images they might have of the appearence of the deck of early war Tambors. They had boat lockers forward on the deck and I just need to find a good image to show their lay out. I've already gotten as many images as you can get from the web of Tambors but there's not much in the early war configurations, especially shots of the deck. I'm also being too cheap to spend $60.00 for Tambor plans from an on-line source. I'm saving my money for the aftermarket upgrade parts. Thanks. |

First place I hit. They've got a lot of images of specific boats that helped a lot.
