For $50 you can buy all 4 DVDs from the History Channel on-line store.
You get a DVD on the boats of WW2. one on the captains, one on the torpedos and one on attack tactics. Almost 4 hours . Well worth the money. JCC |

Unfortunately, the visual quality of Google video (and Youtube) is vey low. Does anyone have a link to a downloadable *.AVI or *.WMV version? I'm really only interested in a few clips/sequences from the video, not all four hours of the DVD series.

Had to snicker about people wondering if the torpedo failure rate in RFB is too high while watching the account of the Tinosa. Can't even imagine the sense of frustration with firing 6 fish at a taker with only one explosion which put her DIW, and 12 after the tanker was DIW with no detonations.
Thats a failure rate of 94%!!! Although a failure rate that high was unusual, people wondering if a failure rate as low as 40% or as high as 80% (as some people playig RFB have reported at times) in RFB is historical only need to watch that video.

Wow!
A great find that certainly belongs in Ducimus' stickied thread. The amazing thing to me was that we made such a huge impact with less than 300 submarines. Then you have to almost totally discount their effectiveness while firing defective torpedoes for two years. STILL they sank 55% of the tonnage total for the war.
Great find!

This last one was very good and very good video as I never saw a pixel out of place, some of the older film was grainy but that is to be expected.
Another good find.
