I've had this problem since the game was installed.
If I call battle stations and the deck gun is manned, I just have to check the "fire at will" option and the crew will fire despite the weather. Really rough weather or storms has no effect. The crew will still shoot. Installed patch 1.4, but no effect. Did a small search in the forum, but couldn’t find any other stories about this problem. Am I the only one who has this problem? And what can be done about it??? Anything said will be appreciated.

That's interesting Bubblegum,
I had not seen that in SH IV. I remember in SH III, if the seas were running, and I ordered the gun crew to the roof, they'd just look at me like I was an idiot and say "Not only No, but Hell No". At the same time in even higher seas, the folks in the conning tower wouldn't squawk if they were under water for five or ten seconds at a time every two minutes. I'm not talking spray. This was under water on the conning tower. Since seeing that, I have not even called a gun crew to the deck in questionable weather in SH IV. By the way, when you put the gun crew with the magnetic boots to work, can they hit anything ? Maybe it's not a bug, but a feature. ![]() Old Dog |

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Submarine\NSS_Sargo
whatever subs folder your using open the cfg file within the appropriate folder [Unit] ClassName=SSSargo 3DModelFileName=data/Submarine/NSS_Sargo/NSS_Sargo HumanPlayable=YES Interior=data/Interior/NSS_Salmon/NSS_Salmon UnitType=200 MaxSpeed=21 MaxSpeedSubmerged=8.75 Length=94.6404 Width=8.1788 RenownAwarded=130 [Salvo] 1=1,3,2,4 2=1,2,4 3=1,3,4 4=1,4 5=2,3 6=1,3 7=2,4 [Properties] PeriscopeDepth=16.7;meters SnorkelDepth=9.144;meters CrashDepth=40;meters MaxDepth=100;meters SurfaceDepth=5.366;meters TorpLaunchMaxDepth=30;meters StormConditions=9,0.1;max wind speed [m/s], max rain intensity [0,1] [EngineProperties] AllStop=0.00 AheadSlow=0.20 AheadOneThird=0.40 AheadStandard=0.60 AheadFull=0.80 AheadFlank=1.00 BackSlow=-0.20 BackStandard=-0.30 BackFull=-0.50 BackEmergency=-0.70 Where it says the first numbers it reads nine comma zero point one semicolon. everything after the semi colon is explanation of the range of the two settings on either side of the comma. upping or downing windspeed will enable or disable the crew at battlestations surface in heavy weather be advised that once you eliminate wind as a factor you discover that rain can still keep you off of deck so you need to set both not just one. regards M |

When the seas are rough, I still get the "can't man the deck gun, seas to rough" -message, if I try to pick a target with the binoculars. So the game/crew do recognise that there is a storm.
But the deck gun is always manned, if I call to battlestations, and as said, they will still fire when they get fire at will option. I just can't pick my own targets in a storm!!?! I just think it is very strange. But thanks for the replyes and I will try to look in the cfg file...
