Default Issue with GWX 2.0

Ok so I went on my first patrol last night. Sank 2 ships (a large merchant and a small freighter). Being that I was on a type IIA i decided to head back. When I came back to Kiel I hit exit and dock at Kiel. But when the mission reveiw came up it said that I didn't sink anything and got no renown. What the hell?

Did you make any changes to your sub before you left dock?

Did you make changes to your boat before going on patrol? I've heard that that is one known bug with SH3. Another possibility is that you were, irony of all ironies, too close to your berth when you exited your patrol.

Did you modify your boat before leaving port? add upgrades?

this happens sometimes on first patrols, some people like to make a shakedown cruise, say 100km from base and return, then make the 2nd patrol the for real war-patrol to prevent just such an occurrence...

Negative. I just added a better crew memeber so that I could have watchman. Should I just start over or is there something else wrong..

Reportedly, even making a crew alteration can be enough to cause this. Best practice is to not make any changes to boat or crew before going on your first patrol. You can either suffer this for your first patrol or do as others suggest, make a short hop out an back and then configure your options before your next patrol.

The crewman change must have been the cause.

Is there a way to modify some files to have your records show the tonnage you sank if such a problem arises (assuming you remember the type of ship and tonnage you sank)?

IIRC there is but I couldn't tell you how to do that, I've seen a post on it somewhere, but that was at least 6 months ago

Well what I found odd is that if I do the "magical" end mission from sea I get credit for the kill but docking at kiel didn't. I'm starting over with a different U-boat anyway so I'll tell you what I get.

Zoso, it is a known SH3 bug that sometimes, if you end your mission too close to your starting point (harbour), you will loose all renown.

This may also have been the problem.
Most trouble has been documented in the GWX manual (don't know if you use that supermod)

This is a bug that I have also experienced. To rectify it, I make a save just prior to docking. If when I dock I get zero renown, I just reload the save I just made and dock again and hey presto I get the renown.

An intermittent problem Kaleun.....inherited from stock SH3

Check the names of your careers (one is probably 'Player')......the most likely times to experience this phenomena are when you are called 'Player 1' or whatever.
It is believed the game engine has a coding/programming problem in differentiating between 'Players' (but this can and does occasionally occur in other naming examples)
