Hi!
The ocean liner in the photo with the B-17's is Rex, on the mission where then-Lt. Curtis Lemay was trying to show that intercepting an ocean liner meant U.S. Army bombers could perform coast defense missions. My guess is "Rex." - one more for the Italian fleet! ![]() Pablo

in case you don't know the site yet: http://www.simplonpc.co.uk/ It features pictures and a little history of a large number of ocean liners and cruise ships. Little technical data though. But very interesting to look at. |
