Default Strange weather

New career after installing 1.4 patch.
refueling at Midway and going to a bay south-west of Tokyo (forgot the name) to make some photos.

Just after I left Midway the weather gets worse. The waves are very big. From time to time the water goes over the whole boat.
The trip take some time (two, three weeks?) and the weather was the same all the time. Even on very shallow waters the waves were huge.
That is one thing I find weird.

The second is that during the storm if I increase time compression, the boats speed will start dropping down to 0. After a moment it reaches 0 and remains there. Then when I decrease TC, speed goes up.

Do You have the same experience?

I've had a post patch annoyance (I won't call it a problem) where my boat gets stuck at nav points. It reaches a nav point and stops. I have to go to 1X, increase speed and manually do a rudder change. After that I can "resume to course" and it works. It's happened 3 or 4 times so far, always in rough weather.

I think it only happens when I add nav points while I'm in time compression.

Don't think this is a patch thing, I believe this has been the case since 1.0.

I have the "stop" problem also. I cannot resume course after loading. Have to increase speed manualy and after a while resume the course.

What I ment by droping the speed to 0 during a storm is that the speed goes (because of big waves) 9-7-8-6-7-5-6-3-5-2-3-1-0.....
After reaching 0 doesn't change anymore until I decrease TC.
It happens only with TC higher than 128x.
With lower TC it goes from 9 to 6 and back.

I also find unrealistic to have 10m waves where the total depth is 15m

We'', I've had speed fluctuations during rough weather but never experienced it dropping to 0 like what's happening to you... As far as big waves in shallow water--while I doubt the game is modelled to reflect this, waves typically get bigger in shallow water than they do in deep. Hence the term "Surf's Up!".

Also, the weather starts over again when you save and restart. At least this is how it was explained to me by Leovampire. So, if you save half way through a storm and restart, the clock starts all over again. So yes, potentually you can have a storm for weeks. Ride out the storm!
