Im in the caribbean and I rean into 4 large tankers unescorted. They are lit and I cant id the flags. They dont match anything in the in game list that GWX has. Does the fact that they are lit mean that they are not for me to sink?

Most definatley neutral, so don't go sinking them, as you will take a large renown hit.

Don't take it granted that all lit ships are neutral. On a patrol in the Carib in Jan-Feb 42 I encountered more than one lit American tanker. It's best to get a positive ID on the flag and check the country's status.
