Default Torpedo Door sound

I'm sorry I haven't worked on this yet, but here is a real torpedo door on a Balao class sub. This is not a mod yet, but the raw sound file.

THe only catch - it is closing, not opening, or that is how it was described, but tell me - does it sound like it is closing? To me it definitely sounds like it is opening.

http://www.speedyshare.com/334411960.html

Anyway, I planned to match it signal wise to the in game sound, but a friend dumped the entire BattleStar Galactica season 1 on me, so I have been busy turning it into AVI's for my Dlink Media player. So if anyone wants to add this to a sound pack, feel free. Just drop me a line in this thread so I know I don't have to do any work on it.

Thanks,

-S

It definitely sounds like opening. And one can hear the torpedo leaving the tube, too. Sounds good.

I don't think that is a torp leaving the tube. That is the door locking open. I've listenened to real torpedoe plugs being fired and Bangor SubBase, and it is a loud and violent sound. This is too suttle for a plug or torp being fired.

Just my take on it.

I agree by the way, that door is opening.

Well, to me it does sound like closing. I think this is a good sound to use. Is this not possible in it's current state?
If not, what has to be done about it?

Good find Subman

It needs to be signal matched to the original sound is all, so that it plays at an equal volume to the original file (so you can hear it, but it is not overpowering).

Ok, I don't know anything about that. Is this easy to learn or is this something I'll be called "Professor" for when finished?

Could you upload this again, Speedyshare deleted it because it was too old. Maybe upload to FileFront instead to avoid deletion.
